Opinions on magnetic closures () Derek Cohen (in Perth, Australia)
Hi Wiley
It is not too long ago that I rebuild our kitchen. In this I used European hinges throughout. These hold the door with a spring against the frame ...
Drawers are soft closers, and similarly pull against the frame.
I am not a fan of magnets, for the same reason Steve gave. That is, they make a tight connection which, when opened requires a hard pull and, when closing, can spring close with a clunk (but then so can any door/drawer - adding a layer of felt or rubber is helpful). Mainly, I do not like the extra effort in opening.
Regards from Perth
