Thanks for the link, Steve. I’ll probably try to do a pencil rubbing on the stamp on the front of the bun and maybe a close up photo of the “steel” mark.

Like any new tool your infill will have a different feel from the planes you’re used to. This may make it feel “wrong” at first but with more experience you may end up liking it better.

That’s definitely been my experience so far. I did manage to pick up a book “Infill Planes” by Hans Brunner that describes some of the interaction and exchange of parts between Mathieson and Spiers and another web site that even discusses forgery of the Mathieson line by creating stamps that would suggest the plane is an original. Fun stuff so far.
