Subject:
Old hand saws

Joe shelton
I'm launching a new excursion, with old Disstons mainly, and one Atkins.

I'm relying heavily on Bob Smalser's article about straitening, but he caution that he "won't make me a saw Doctor", so I'll pose a question about tensioning.

I don't know the difference between a saw which is well tensioned, and one which is not.

Does the tension make the blade stiffer?
