Subject:
Adze handle *PIC*

Jack Guzman from Maine
I bought a hollowing adze from a maker in England. I couldn't find one in the US. The adze is a well made tool. It was hand shaped by a blacksmith. It does the job well. The only problem I had with it was the handle. It appears to be a piece of ash that was shaped by some sort of machine. The ergonomics of it are fine but it is just plain ugly. After using it to build one chair I couldn't stand it any longer and had to build a new one. Not particularly elegant but beautiful in my eyes. The new one is hickory.---Jack
