Subject:
working angles for pine, popular?

Joseph Piotrowski
hey there woodcentral!

in order to keep costs down for shop stuff, I'm spending a lot of time working with pine and sometimes popular.

i have read some things on internet about using certain bevels on chisels and plane angles but i can't trust that information as much as i would trust it from this group.

i don't plan on buying anything just pine, but i have a few more tools than i really need so i don't mind setting aside one or two tools for just working in pine and soft woods.

i have heard 17 degrees and 20 degrees for chisels. even one claim that bevel up planes are better in pine. any of this true?

TIA,

Joe P.
