Do you have a lathe? You can make a bearing or sleeve if you do (presumably the width is a problem for stock bearings?)

Corian is a good bearing material - you can turn it on a lathe. Even if you don't have a lathe, I'll bet you could rig up some kind of friction fit setup to do it on a drill press.
