Re: New timber tech book on the way.

Out of curiosity, how do you see your book fitting in relative to Hoadley's "Understanding Wood"? [*]

From reading through your blog posts and particularly the second one it looks like you're aiming to be accessible to a broader range of readers? I've never found Hoadley to be particularly difficult, but I come from an engineering background and can see how it might not be ideal for everybody.

Thanks in advance for your efforts. I think that we often focus too much on tools and not enough on the stuff, so IMO it's an underserved market in that respect.

[*] My go-to reference on the topic, FWIW. The USDA Forest Products Lab has also published some really useful papers over the years, though those tend to be more narrowly focussed.
