Hand Tools Archive

Who are the teachers teaching how to use hand tools these days? We know the internet instructors, and they all had no clue. That includes people who have been teaching since long before the internet (including folks like Paul Sellers).
I can't remember, but I'm assuming you may be from the UK. In the US, I'm not sure how long it's been since hand tool use was common on furniture, cabinets, etc.
My grandfather had a friend who was a clock maker and cabinetmaker in Gettysburg, PA (maybe specified as a smaller local town) and I looked at the clock and cabinets that this man had made. There wasn't any evidence of hand tools (late 1960s), though the guy's work was quite nice and very tight - and not bulky.
I'm going to assume that this is something that is different between the US and the UK (when legitimate hand plane use stopped).
