Joe in a Cleveland suburb
In the (I think it is the) April 2016 issue of Popular Woodworking, Caleb James has an article on making Roubo Hollows and Rounds.
I would like to have a pair of #'s 4 & 6 and try making some moldings.
I thought I would give this a shot this winter - yes it would probably take me all winter to make just one...
It looks like just about any wood would work, but of course beech is recommended.
Since the search function is not working, would anybody like to suggest an on-line source from which I could order some beech from?
It doesn't have to be perfect-for-plane-making beech, just functional. I just want a couple planes that are functional and don't have to be perfect works of art. My biggest challenge will likely be the irons anyway...
I tried to use the search function as I recall many beech billet conversations here over the recent years.
Thanks for any suggestions.
