Green wood; A question or two and froes

Cut down five Native American Elms in the backyard and intend on using the wood for green projects and chair parts. Coating the end grain with a sealer.
1) Do I need to debark?
2) can I store the logs outside or do I need to bring into the garage?

Anyone have any experience with the Froe Lee Valley sells that they would care to share?
