60 strings and 72 berries and done at last. . Once started it was best to keep at it till done. About the time one gets proficient its over.

The pattern is similar to a classic pattern. However, this box is about half the size of a Period spice Box. I left out half the berries on the interior "petals" to make it less busy. Also half the interior petals don't penetrate the diamond on my pattern. I think the result is not only less busy but attractive.

Note that the worry over compass holes is unwarranted. They just don't show up at normal viewing distance. Anything that doesn't detract from the appearance of a piece at normal viewing distance I don't worry about.
