The question about reviews from other reviewers, though, was not a rhetorical device.

Are there any? If not, why not?

Charles, the answer to that is quite simple.

I am about the only one to take the time and effort to write in-depth reviews on hand tools. There are others, such as Chris Schwarz, who write mini reviews. There were two others, Lyn Mangiameli and Alf, who wrote similar reviews to mine (but better!). Wonderful writers. I miss Alf's humour. I miss Lyn's insights and attention to detail. But they stopped writing because of boorish attacks on the forums.

I would love to see you pen a review. I wonder how you would go about it? Do you think that you could create something that not only informs, but educates? Perhaps I can send you something to review. Perhaps Rob might do so and you show us how a review should be done?

There are 48 reviews on my website (which total a tiny proportion of my scribblings on tools and furniture). Just under half these reviews are LV products. The remainder are a variety that take in LN, Gramercy, Brese, HNT Gordon, Koyamaichi, Knew Concepts .... Why do I continue to write these when there is the constant risk of being abused for the many hours that go into them? The answer lies in the many hours I spend writing on this (and other) forums - writing constructive and, hopefully, thoughtful presentations that will stir others to respond equally thoughtfully. And they do.

Regards from Perth

Derek
