Subject:
I've noticed that about shrinkage tables...

John in NM
When I lived in Tucson we still used evaporative coolers - I've seen the house so hot and humid that boots left in a quiet corner for a couple weeks would mold.

Then other seasons it gets hot and dry, or cold and dry, or cold and wet, and the house follows suit (I never lived in a new house until I built one).

Never seen shrinking or swelling up to even half what is predicted by the tables. In the truly humid southern states, I would expect to see more, but still nothing much like the maximum values on the tables.
