Re: Sellers Remorse

Sellers Remorse ()

Paul M.
I have a thing about tripping over stuff. I just can't stand having to step over things and kick them around. It triggers the same extreme adverse reaction I get whenever I get near a shopping mall. I've spent a lot of effort trying to make everything have a place, but that never seems to be very... ummm... permanent. The free radicals start finding new homes underfoot.

Having a limited shop space means that when I get something in, then something else must go. I usually keep a mental list of what is next on the to-go list. My large planer is next to leave as i haven't used it in years. That will help make the few remaining plugged-in tools on the power side of my shop much easier to move around.

Boy did I dance the happy dance as my piece-o-something-I-would-not-want-to-step-in Shopsmith drove away with all of the stuff that goes with those monsters. I've never had a single second of remorse after that one left. I've had no tablesaw for 2+ years now, and haven't missed it at all.

Usually, by the time it gets off the to-go list and gets sold, it's been on that list for a while. So I've not experienced sellers remorse, since the time to adapt to the departure of the item is front-loaded. I'm glad for the space for more jigs or whatever.
