Sticking Board questions ()

I see a sticking board as a production tool. I make one if I expect to make dozens of the same moulding. I do have one that is 8 feet long. If I am making a single moulding, I can use a board I have laying around or a number of other methods. I have had to make a large variety of mouldings- hard to imagine a sticking board to cover every situation.

Here are some other methods: Make the moulding on the edge of a wider board (that you can put in the vise or clamp to the bench), then rip the moulding off the edge. Or Cut the moulding blank a little long and fasten it at both ends to a piece of pine with countersunk nails. Or Use hide glue to fasten the blank to a board to be held in a vise. Or Screw a holding board to the underside.
