Re: You must be describing the SAPFM Forum

William Duffield
Maybe, picking on other forums was not a good idea. :( I should note that different forums have different business models, and restrictions on forums that survive by advertising revenue have to be different than those which are designed to serve the needs of members who pay dues to belong to the organization, or to forums which charge for all access to the unique information they have created or added value to.

Yes, the SAPFM forum can be a bit frustrating at times, but it was not the one I was throwing stones at. With the SAPFM forum, my work-around is to start with the link at the bottom of the page, in the forum Stats box and click on "view the most recent posts on the forum", which is presented in chronological order, and then follow the threads from there. I'll discuss your problems with Micky and Bob the next time I see one of them. Maybe I could suggest general access to the thumbnails that are posted on the forum, but continuing to restrict access to full size images to members. To me, the restrictions they have in place on access to furniture plans, and the member directory, and the P4A database are completely reasonable.

There are other forums with some rules I find much more unreasonable, but harping further about it here won't fix anything, and would probably just make people angry, so I'll drop the subject.
