Poison Ivy ()

Where we live, poison ivy is rampant, swallowing up entire trees. But, as often in nature, the traditional antidote is often found nearby. Here in PA, that antidote is jewelweed, Impatiens biflora. Just squish up some of the succulent stems and apply directly to the affected area.

On another note, I was very susceptible to poison ivy sufferer as a kid, but my pediatrician gave me a series of injections that were supposed to provide some sort of immunity to the effects of poison ivy. Around the same time, I also took daily doses of an over-the-counter drug called Antivy that I believe included pulverized dried poison ivy leaves. One or the other worked though, and I've been virtually immune to poison ivy ever since, over 50 years.
