Yeah, I thought the chisel he chose was incredibly large. I don't know if I've ever seen one that large in person, and I wouldn't choose it for small work.

The PS's I've seen (other than mine, which are the RI types) have been in the size range of the RI chisels, and I've never used one that didn't taper along its length to give you a business end that isn't pretty easily managed.

The big thing PS used would stay straight in a long mortise, for sure, even without much depth.
