David, I'm going to cheat (when I finally get around to it). I have a Sherline lathe and mill. I also have a four fold I bought from Garret Wade a while back to copy the joint. The fold out joints, not the main joint, look to be the hardest to do right. They appear to be a hinge with fingers rather than leaves. That's why I'll probably make a two fold. Of course this project will be put into line behind the others. I'm going to go into tool-making mode here soon and try to produce a number of things.
