Re: What are my chances - Vintage Black Arkansas () Ellis Walentine
I had an 8x2 hard black Arkansas stone that I bought in the late 70s, when Woodcraft was still in Woburn, Massachusetts. I stopped using it because I got into Japanese waterstones around '77 and they cut much faster, with equally impressive results, plus I didn't have to clean oil off my plane irons. All my stones except one were lost in my shop fire in '99, so, unfortunately, I can't sell you mine.
Cheers,
Ellis
