Anyone who has ever used a sping pole (or other human powered) lathe can tell you that it`s a real bear to turn using dry wood. As you can see, all the smart bodgers turned green. Easier on the legs, tools and the lungs. Far faster too, a very real consideration when you`re a subcontractor and being paid by the spindle.
