Charles, what exactly is your objective here? Is it to prove to people you have a better answer on something opinion related, or is it to try to convince everyone else they've never had a critical thought or the ability to make a cost/benefit decision?

The same things you rail about with japanese or boutique tools could be said about everything you could buy. It could be said about food, it could certainly be said about expensive furniture, which would be easily described as no more functional than cheap furniture and a total sham foisted on people who like things someone else tells them are worthwhile.

I don't think anyone on any of these forum sites has any idea why you want to overlay your tool preferences on everyone else. I'm baffled by it, but other than being tired of seeing the same posts over and over and over and over, I don't care much.

Why is it that you feel like people really want your specific opinion that badly such that everyone has to see it over and over and over?
