Question re Chipbreaker Discussion () Jerry Murrey
Many thanks to all of you that took the time to respond to my question. Some answers made me realize that I should have spent more time with how I phrased the question. Based on the positive responses from those that had actually introduced a parallel camber on the chipbreaker, I believe I will try this on smoothers with slight camber intended for flat-panel work. Using the eclipse jig for cambering the breaker as with a blade sounds good to me. (Thanks Mr. Charlesworth) FYI - I have been shooting for a blade exposure of about 1/64" (approx. 0.4 mm) and a gradual camber that approximately 2-3 thosands at the edges (see some light under a straighedge).
