ie, is the breaker there to break the chip, stabilize the blade, or set really close to hold the chip back. The first two don't require a close set, so the issues around fit don't mater. The no breaker plane doesn't need one. So in 3 out of 4 paradigms, the issues don't come up. In one, it's either going to be rough or maybe it will all work out fine because of David's claim.
