Yeah, heat tolerance is probably the biggest day to day change.

But it's uncanny when you get something cocobolo that is really bad in terms of silica content, it can dull a carbon steel plane in 10 strokes. I can get 100 or more out of an HSS planes.

But what those numbers look like with something like cherry, is probably more like a factor of two to three, and vs. A2 in cherry, maybe a factor of 2 or a little less.

But in cocobolo that is really nasty with silica, A2 and HCS are hard to use.
