Benefit to a manual is you don't have to figure it out in 10 minutes.
Of course, some enterprising course maker could come up with a video or expensive class to show how to use and set the double iron.
If people are willing to pay for sharpening classes (and there are those local here), who knows what else they'd pay for?
I'd like to err on the side of telling someone to figure out what they want and find out or figure out how they want to get there.
