Flattening chisel backs! *PIC*

I am wondering is I am going to about flattening my chisel back the right way? I started off with 60 grit sandpaper then I when to 120 sandpaper then I went to 1200, 2000,and 4000 girt waterstones I still need polish it some more on the 4000 grit stone before I move up to 6000. I use my Unisaw top as a flat surface.
