I am not talking about turning you into a high cabinetmaker in a month, just about giving you the all of basic tools to begin your journey.

I understand that people learn in different: I for one could not learn from books or DVD's alone.
I could not sit and read Hoadleys book, I can refer to it as i am working and experimenting to clarify things.

I could not be taught math by simply being given the formula, I would need to understand the hows and whys of how it applied, so that I undestood it.

I can see that all of the hours that you talk of are great for learning and practicing specifics, but that is not what i meant.
