Everyone has their preference in grinders, I guess. The grinder is more important than the 6".
I'm still waiting for the "weak edge" that everyone insists will happen with a grinder.
Benefit to the 6" for the beginners is they can go to any home depot and try one for about $40 or so. And the hollow is deep enough to last a lot longer if someone likes to reference completely on the flats.
Though I don't care that much about what anyone else does, I do get a little annoyed with every "new" sharpening method somehow being any better than every other method that polishes an edge left at a certain bevel.
