What draws you to a piece/style of furniture?Texchappy
Is it the lines? The Craftsmanship? The story? Personal associations?
Personally, I find my taste evolving. It's even changed some in the brief time I've been researching woodworking. I must admit that I have some Ikea and was considering buying some more (please hold the stones). I liked the clean lines of modern and mid-century. I steered away from 'early american' because of the cheap reproductions my family had growing up. As I learn more about the stories of these styles my taste are reversing. For example, I watched a documentary on Ray and Charles Eames last night when I couldn't sleep. After watching it and the philosophy behind it (i.e. mass produced) I found myself less interested in it.
So what about you?
