I own a half-set of Clark & Williams hollows and rounds and several other moulding planes. They are all great and I wouldn't be without them.
My comments speak to wooden bench planes and I'd be happy if you would inform me what your technique is, especially when smoothing, when you run up against something that the plane just won't handle. Scraping is always an option and I wouldn't hesitate. Have you found the Holy Grail plane that can handle anything or do you have some super-secret technique you're willing to share with the world?
