Double iron jackResponse To:
Re: Absolutely not () Warren in Lancaster, PA
Charles, I have hardly ever used a Bailey jack plane. I use a double iron jack that I made in 1978. I also use a double iron trying plane (Sandusky) that I bought in 1979. The wooden planes are lighter and probably more comfortable. These two planes are used much more than jointer or smoothing planes. I have never had to monkey with the mouth.
