.....I see the complexity of the forces and clearances interacting. A lower bedding angle will result in more levering force but a lower bed angle will enable the pressure bar to be set closer to compensate for this effect.
I have an acquaintance who is a mechanical engineer and woodworker. I will see if I can get him engaged in these thoughts.
He did a wonderful analysis of why the thin small blades I use in the table saw don't throw things but he still hasn't written it up for the Articles section. If I remember correctly there is enough energy stored in a spinning 10 x 1/8" blade to hurl a sizable piece of wood 100 mph.
