You may need more weight than regular wood will provide. Epoxy some lead or a brass bolt in there. Most of the heads these days are either metal and wood, or metal and plastic. Krenov had an arty little hammer. But he had access to all kinds of woods. Some like Lignum are heavier than water. But steel is about 7x heavier.
