Thanks TomD: got plenty of wood left to go
This box is sort of my practice with a purpose piece. Worst case scenario is I've turned some inexpensive wood into future practice scrap wood.
I probably did jump the gun on getting another saw but I've been thinking about it a bit and wanted to compare how the ergonomics of each tool works for my needs - same as I'm doing with planes. I'm committed to hand tools so I'll have to learn to rip some how and some way. Itching to get back to my project to give it another go but had physical therapy yesterday and I'm unable to get out of my recliner today.
PS: I know the ryoba would probably work better for ripping in a traditional position - across two small horses - and leaning down to rip it as pictured in Odate. However, I can't bend down that far (couldn't lean down to lift the toilet lid today for reference).
