A Tale of Two Planes

Been using my Old Street smoother - mostly playing (or is that planing) around - and really love it. I got my 48mm kanna from Stu yesterday. I gotta say great service from Stu, got here from Japan in just about a week.

I got the setup on the kanna pretty good and tried it. First impression was that it was good but the Old Street was easier for me to use. I'll keep playing with it.

I also got my Schwarz hand plane essentials book yesterday and read most of it last night. One thing that I hadn't thought much about or read nearly enough about was grain direction. Armed with this new info I believe I'll be able to be better understand what's happening between blade and wood - at least that's the hope.

Oh, and did put myself on the waiting list for a new Old Street Jack :)) - it's going to be a long six months ;)
