The blade was fully set before I got it; it seems perfect. The winding sticks, the way I described them, are on opposite sides of the mouth. As for the mathematics, any three points in space form a plane. So you're right, pick any three you want, and you can put a plane through them.

I just looked at it with the winding sticks on the near side of the mouth:that part has no twist. I then put both on the far side of the mouth -- one just where the blade would protrude and the other at the far end: the twist is there as I described it earlier.
