How about a Design Czar! ()

Good furniture is far more than artistic design, it consists of structural engineering based on knowledge of wood structure and engineering principles, it requires precision cut and fitted parts etc. I never mentioned anything about "artists and designers deciding on the value of art and design." What i said was that I thought it might be important to be able to determine the quality of work. Those are things are measurable. I have no interest in someones opinion as to whether or not they like the look of it or for them to determine the price. What I spoke of was not artists and designers at all, I spoke of furniture makers setting up a grading system to establish standards and give credibility and consistency to the trade. The only people that i see suffering from this are those who do bad work and are a disservice to the trade, and a disservice to those that have worked hard to attain a high standard of knowledge and quality.
