I'd love to have a primus smoother, but every time I've seen one, the seller has been a bit too proud of it. Maybe someday.

What's odd is that there was a time that everyone seems to have bought them as *the have to have* premium smoother, and about 3 years ago, everyone was dumping them.

I haven't seen it lately. If I saw one in good shape for less than 100 bucks, I'd probably have it, as the muji design continental smoothers are nice planes if you can deal with the HSS irons and a cap iron that needs a little work. A bit less refined than the primus, and no adjuster.
