Came back from a local road called Old Orchard, with the Orchard. Well really, only a little bit of Apple, and some thick maple. I am going to get some nice utilitarian bowls from it, and probably a base for a bench in Maple. I sawed some thick planks, 4.5" thick, so the legs will be stout. They were only 40x20 boards, but once the ends were waxed I had some difficulty moving the planks. There were tons of willow had I wanted any. Don't make cricket bats, though it would have been perfect since most of the logs had been scored every 4 feet or more.

The trees had license tags on them to authorize their destruction. I got one of those and am going to try to work it into one of the bowls. Street needs to be called something like No Orchard from now on. On the plus some nice new executive homes on 39' lots are going in once they are pre-sold.
