Mark - question on super surfacers - what is a typical cutting angle and clearance angle?

In general, clearance angles are something I'd like to know about; Larry, L. Lee (and others) have discussed it, 12.5º seems like an "agreed" upon min, I'm wondering how dependent it is on wood species, long vs end grain, etc. A very low angle plane combined with a SS style "chip breaker" that doesn't care about grain direction is pretty appealing (which may already be realized in Japanese [hand] planes).
