... about the price, and being that it's used for infills, the flat hard top is the most important part. I would probably have bought it regardless because I didn't want to shop for an anvil for the rest of my life, and it has the specs I need.

That and being relatively heavy compared to the ASOs peddled everywhere, while still being a size that you can easily lift and walk around with without ending up hunched over the next day.

It's one of those things I don't really "need", just like I don't "need" to make tools, but it is nice to have after going absolutely minimalist for the first three planes.

Anvils are plentiful around here. The guy who sold it to me said that from time to time, he'll head home two hours away, pick up three, and bring them back and sell them on CL. He said he has 30, and his dad's got several times that, and he has no trouble picking up more of them to resell because of his and his dad's reputation.
