Glad to hear all is well with your Krenov.

On the side sharpening, are you using a sharp skate?

Note, Tom and I attended at least one seminar at Harrelson's some years ago, probably Oct 2002, before he started selling the sharp skate; and Harrelson wasn't side sharpening at that time. I guess that started later. At any rate, I think Tom was asking what is the method you define as side sharpening, so many descriptions floating around and relatively few methods. :) I'm never sure what anyone means by side sharpening, but my interpretation is sharpening with the bevel parallel to the long sides of the stone, moving the blade up and down the stone, while keeping the bevel parallel.
