I'm still surprised when somebody says you only have to flatten the backs for first setup, then you can forget them. I have to wonder in what world s/he lives, whether s/he ever sharpened anything. And then there's that nonsense about only flattening/sharpening the 1" closest to the edge. Jeesh, have those people ever seen a paring chisel after two months of such a regimen?
