Re: Continuous arm Windsor

If I was going to power it I would probably get one of those chainsaw toothed wheels for an angle grinder. However,I really enjoy the carving process using hand tools. There's something satisfying about watching the seat take shape as you carefully remove slices of wood with a sharp blade. It was the hand work aspect that drew me to windsor chair making in the first place. The whole operation is fun. Besides carving the seat, using steam to bend and twist wood to whatever shape you need, shaping spindles with drawknife and spokeshave at a shavehorse.
I guess what I'm saying is that it's not about the end result for me. It's the process of getting there.
Don't get me wrong,I still like my tablesaw but that's for another forum.---Jack
