I agree craig, I didn't elaborate what I meant by not putting my hand on the tote and knob in my long overdrawn explanation. I like to put my back hand under the tote and my front hand over the mouth.
If I have a plane that's already a bit banana shaped (just because the casting turned out that way), I will usually flatten it back to front, if that makes any sense.
I have never thought as much about doing any of this as I have in trying to type it out. It should just be a sensible evolutionary process for someone who works wood with their hands, I think.
