if you have access to a large bandsaw and some big stock supports and a few strong men, then maybe you might be able to free the front and dovetailed cap....otherwise, a powered "skill" saw followed by a handsaw should get you free....whatever you do, don't just plug it and drill round holes....you'll wind up in therapy!!
