Hand Tools Archive

It is kinda funny how the same issues come up over and over in different activities. I've have enjoyed archery all my life, and I like it in any form, but mostly enjoy what is called traditional archery which is archery up to the 70s before the compound bow was produced. There are almost an infinite gradation of slots that one can enjoy in archery.
Primative archery is sticks and stone, sinew, and hide glue. That would be roughly equivalent in attitude to really extreme hand tool only woodworking, though I guess it would really be stone age woodworking, and in fact can be.
Then traditional is sorta like hand tool woodworking with modern instances of old tools so kinda through to Lee nielsen.
Then recently the popularity of Olympic bows caught on among tradtional archers. These days made with CNC and carbon fiber. These would be equivalent to stuff like Rali planes, or maybe some of the better LV gizmos, and maybe Jointmaster. Sstill hand held and drawn but all gageted up.
Then one has one's power tools, in archery and woodworking.
Basically interesting to see how people see themselves in terms of challenge, practicality, spirituality, and self-empowerment. A clinical psychologist would be useful at times like this.
