I just figured there was some sort of solvent evaporation based on observation. For one, the eyes can burn when using it, and two, a drop placed on a surface will appear to dry due to evaporation (albeit slowly), and will shrink in size. I wasn't fully versed on the chemistry of the product or it's reactions, just making an educated guess.
