cleaning glass?

it looked when I was reading about it yesterday like it was quite popular when cleaning lab glassware.

Wiki says it's still present in cement and is one of the reasons for cement rash (or whatever that would be called). Apparently, it slows the set of cement.

My dad ended up with a big ring of cement rash decades ago, and I could never understand why cement would give someone a rash.
